Used Nissan Sentra | Winchester, VA

2017 Nissan Sentra parked in front of a house

The Nissan Sentra has been around in various forms since 1982. From that date until 1999, the Sentra was a subcompact vehicle, more resembling the modern Versa in size than the current-model of Sentra. From 1999 onwards, however, it’s been an economy compact sedan.

Since it’s unlikely that you’ll be buying a used Sentra from before 2000, we’ll start there. 2000 was when the fifth generation of the Sentra was introduced, and its first full year as compact sedan. It was offered with a 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.5L four-cylinder engine. The sixth generation was introduced in 2007. It came with a 2.0L or 2.5L four-cylinder. The seventh generation hit sales lots in 2013, powered by a 1.6L, a 1.6L turbo, or a 1.8L four-cylinder engine. The eighth generation, the one currently in production, started its run in 2020. It comes standard with a 1.6L four-cylinder, much like the seventh-gen model.

Even brand-new, the Nissan Sentra is one of the cheapest vehicles on the market. However, that makes almost-new model years, like 2017 and 2018, ridiculously cheap. If you want a low-mileage, dependable vehicle for pennies on the dollar, try a used Nissan Sentra.
