2019 Passport parked on mountain ridge

After over a decade on hiatus, Honda brought back the Passport crossover SUV. The original Passport started production 1993 and ran until 2002. In 2019, Honda resurrected it. Let’s take a look at the specs from the old and the new.

The first-generation Passport ran from 1993 to 1997. They came with a 2.6-liter four-cylinder eninge, a five-speed manual transmission and RWD. The LX and EX trims has access to a 3.2-liter V6, a four-speed automatic, and 4WD. The second-generation Passport ran from 1998 to 2002. It came with a 3.2-liter V6; there was no four-cylinder option available. Transmission options were the same as the first generation. It was available with a RWD or 4WD drivetrain. Honda ended production for the Passport indefinitely after 2002. In 2019, the third generation Passport returned to the market. It features a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. FWD is standard on lower tier models, but AWD is either available or standard on every trim.
